Walker Floor Jack identification

I've was given an old Walker floor jack that I hope someone here can help me identify as I would like to rebuild it. The tag where the model number was has been scraped to the point were the model number is illegible. I've already removed the bottle and carefully disassembled it. The seals seem pretty worn but other than that it appears to be in pretty good shape.

Give me the Diameter of the Ram and let me know if it has a Leather Ram cup or a Poly, I can hook you up with a kit if you need one. Picture of the Hydraulic Unit?

I'm not exactly sure which diameter you were referring to, but I've attached a couple of pictures that hopefully will help. The cup definitely not leather, it's some sort of poly.

looks like you are in good hands ... Hiball is an expert

just purchased a Walker Jack today off craigslist, that looks very close to yours.
mine is a model 93632, 1 1/2 ton... no leaks, but doesn't hold pressure.

hoping it's the valve just below the u-joint and my cylinder doesn't have to come apart.

here's the link to a complete rebuild for model 93632

Your Walker Jack is either a Model 93632 (Series A, C or E) or a Model J-122. I have the same one as well and love it!

I have a jack that looks exactly like the one in CYs picture(and the same as BIGDa too), except mine is Green.
My dad and I bought it back in the late 60's from Sears. It is leaking around the cylinder and also wont stay up under load.
The tag is gone but I had stamped the number Sears gave it on the side however they dont list any parts for it now. (104 11 612)
Is it safe to assume that it is a Walker 93632 and get a rebuild kit for it or is there a way to confirm what kit I would need for sure.

thanks for any advice

Here are a few pics of my Sears jack, that is a Walker rebranded.
I had trouble getting the tank nut off but I finally made a tool out of a large socket and used my impact wrench to get it off.
I have a repair kit on the way from Hiball, I cant wait to get this jack back in action.

Up until finding this web site I thought that I would have to junk it but now it will live again.

I successfully completed the rebuild on my jack today.
Fun project and nice to have it working again.

so far no leaks and can hold the back of the full size gmc pickup off the ground and
doesn't leak down like it did before the rebuild.

I've got an old mechanical Walker floor jack. It's stamped G-94 and G-104. Can anyone give me any information on this thing? How old? What it's worth?

G'day all, I have 93632 Walker Jack and am just in the process of rebuilding. I'm currently having a difficult time removing the "tank nut", just thought I'd ask before I go crazy. Is the thread on this nut left or right handed? Any ideas? Cheers Peter

I had to ask the same question cause that thing is hard to get off for sure.
It is regular threaded(lefty loosey) turn the nut counter clockwise to get it off. Mine was on so tight I had to make a tool out of a socket and use an air wrench.
Other than that the rebuild goes really easily.

Hi Guys,

I also have a 1 1/2 ton Walker (or so I was told) that won't lift under load and that I want to rebuild. I cannot find a model number on it but it looks like a 93632. I can find the serial number which is E632J18231. Does this correspond to the 93632? Where's the best place to get a rebuild kit? Hiball?

Thanks,
Pete

I have been looking for information on my old jack I saved from the dumpster years ago. I worked well then, but on heavy loads it would start to bleed down, but not before I would get a jack under it. After a while it got worse and sent to storage along the shop. I have since decided to see if it was worth cleaning up.

Your pictures of your jack answers many questions.

I wish there was a way to be able to lift more, but maybe once it is rebuilt it will work better.

I started to take it apart to see if I could find more tags, but I have not. It looks like it was bondo'd and painted, but I am not sure.

Here is mine:

Silly question...I have a 93632 and I have a new U-joint on order from Wise Tools in Florida. Does the flange with the two bolts have to come off to install the U-joint or does it screw right in and you leave the flange alone?

I think I see on mine how to separate the halves...any and all tips appreciated. Mine was ID'd as a 1984 model (which makes sense based on the oil fill/vent port) by Hiball.

Thanks!

Did you buy just the Universal? Or the entire unit including the Release stem along with the Handle socket. The Newer ones do come apart with a small bolt/nut, Im not sure if there is room to slip the socket portion into the handle assembly and get it started into the block before it bottoms out or not, I cant recall ever trying. Worst case scenario you need to remove the handle assembly.

Hiball:

I bought this:

http://wiseautotools.com/blackhawk-u-joint-248731-for-various-brands-of-floor-jacks/

I'll have to get into it to see how the two halves come apart. I want to say, a nut on each side where the saddle pivots, and a set of bolts at the base and then maybe everything can separate enough to wiggle out the handle.

I'm hoping I can get it done...thanks.

Yes.. Just loosen up "1" side from the main pivot to the hydraulic block and that should afford you enough room to slip the handle assembly up/out, so you can install the New universal.

Hiball, that's exactly what I did (actually, loosened both sides...). Cracked myself in the head with the crowbar, but me and the jack are none worse for the wear. Jack is fixed now too, universal joint installed.

Thanks :) :) :).

Hiball, any suggestions on how you would reattach the thin metal shield that is riveted on? I had to tweak it a little and I'd like to straighten it out and put it back. Looks more decorative than anything else. Seems that the 93632 Series A, C, and E have it, Series H does not. It's very thin metal and riveted on at the front frame.

Looks to be #81 here:

http://www.hcrcnow.com/uploads/drawings/walker_93630a.pdf

I was thinking of drilling out the rivet and replacing with a self tapping screw to resecure....

Thanks...

Definitely decorative, IRC some of the series was held in place with splined rivets, I also recall another member just drilled and tapped the holes to accept a common thread size, lots of options here.

Hi Guys
I realise this is an old thread however I'm hoping one of you can help me out. I have an old one & a half ton Walker Floor Jack model 93632, Series E that I was given years ago. Used it quite a bit when I first got it however it sat in the back of my workshop for years gathering dust. Anyhow I loaned it to a mate for about one year and he returned it last week but it no longer lifts. I intend to head down to the auto store tomorrow to get some Hydraulic Jack Oil so I can top it up and bleed it. I also thought I might rebuild it and whilst in pieces maybe even freshen it up with a sand & a new coat of paint. My question is; Does anyone no where I can get a set of decals for it. If I recall there are only three, the dark blue Walker decal, a red Warning decal and the Yellow one on the side that has the model number 93632 & shows Series E. I'm based in Australia but was hoping to be able to purchase a decal kit on line from the States.
Any suggestions or help would be sincerely appreciated.

Here's one for the experts too, it belonged to my uncle who had a shop from the turn of the century till the 70's, I have no idea what year it is or what it's worth, but the good news is that it still works just fine! Looking for info.....

Thanks Paulsomlo, I think it's an 800 series based on the link you posted - I'm going over tomorrow to take a better look, maybe I can get some numbers off it too. There are two other jacks there as well, a Blackhawk and I'm not sure on the third one - but it's HUGE, about half again longer than the Walker - which is pretty big already.....
