I bought an old Walker Floor Jack at Fall Carlisle. It had a remanufactured Hydraulic Cylinder and actually worked perfect. I paid $75 for it. I spent some time disassembling, cleaning and painting it. I was not a fan of the original blue so I painted it red. I knew that the folks here on Garage Journal would love to see a few photos of the finished product, so here they are.

Rick

PS: I should have taken some more "before" pictures.

If Ronald McDonald works on his car, that is the jack he would have. :lol_hitti

Seriously, great job repainting a great deal on a really cool old jack. I would love to find one of those.

I believe to have the same jack but am not sure, if you can take a look at my posting. Great job on the paint , did you sprayed it . I am going to try to rebuild mine once I find out what's the model , so I could purchase the seal kit. Thanks for your help .

I saw your posting and your jack looks to be the same model. Mine has a two ton rating. I glass beaded most of this jack in my cabinet. I brush primed the castings because they are kind of a rough surface to begin with. Then I sprayed the jack with Rustoleum Sunrise Red paint. It turned out real nice. I was fortunate that this jack had a Walker remanufactured cylinder and did not need a rebuild. However the rest of the jack was extremely greasy and filthy dirty. I spent about 20 hours cleaning, blasting and painting. Good luck with yours. I have been working on cars as a hobby for 35 years and I've never had a jack this nice!

Nice job on the restoration. I just purchased a similar 2 ton walker on Craig’s List. I’m interested in what you are using as the protective pad. Need to use something on my jack to protect the paint on the chassis when jacking up my car.

An old buffing pad works good.
