Got this jack (only the jack) back from the rebuilder. Had to take him the jack only as he did not want to disassemble and assemble the jacks' framework.
Jack came home empty and off course, untested. Put it all back together today and it sort of works! 1st stroke of the jack raises the saddle a good 2". Every stroke afterwards raises it less and less. FWIW..from rest to fully extended it takes 14-15 strokes to raise it. At mid lift, say 12-14"feels like very little fluid is being pumped. Closer to the top of the lift it picks up speed a little faster until it tops out. I'm thinking air in system and apparently my vent is bad as one time it shot fluid up to the overhead light and ceiling! Messy!
After that I put in a solid plug, but Highballs old thread said these need to "breathe". Is a vent necessary and/ or what else do I have to do the get the air outta this thing. Worked on it all day today!
Greatly appreciate any advice from you experts out in the field.
