Walker Jack Front wheels Bearing Needle Rollers

Hello all,
I am restoring an old Walker 783 Series D 3 ton Jack. where can I buy Bearing Needle Rollers for the front Wheels. I am missing few hence the question. Which stores typically have them so I can bring the originals to match new ones?. Home Deport does have them. I see similar items online but don't want to buy without comparing in person unless I know for sure the size and specs. I am located in San Diego.

You will need to find a bearing MFG, that will work with you, for a direct match up otherwise you will need some precision tools for measurement.....Can you post some pics with measurements?

Lol home Depot! If you can get the measurements, you can do a search for loose needle bearings and then pick from a bearing supplier.

+1 We’re not talking about a race car here, just measure the bearing OD and hit the google machine or look locally. I’d try to stick with Hardened material, Chrome/plated? not necessary since it’s a pretty crude setup. I’m guessing 1/4”, Maybe 5/16” you can cut to length.

an inexpensive digital caliper will get you the measurements you need . as mentioned, the length can be ground to suit . even slightly smaller OD will work , just put them in semi equally spaced ( not all together) around the shaft

In this application there isn’t really a option of spacing them out, if memory serves there might be a 1/8” or smaller gap (dry) when all the bearings are installed. The bearings keep the wheel centered to the shaft with no inner or outer races, outside of the crude wheel/axle shaft.

Make your own from some A2 rod, https://www.metalsdepot.com/search?q=1/8+rod. 3' of 1/8" is ~10 bucks. This is what I did on one jack I worked on. Bought the rod and cut to length. This is not precision work unless you intend to sleeve the wheels and resize the work axles. To make a good guess at the size bearing needed measure both the axle and the wheel and take 1/2 the difference for the bearing od.
