I've got one. Absolutely love it. I paid $90 for mine and it was in some kind of bad shape, but after having cleaned it up and used it for a few years, I would pay $250 in a heartbeat. Great great drill press. Go pick it up and be happy you did!

The spindle cap alone sells for $40 on ebay. If all of the components are there I wouldn't be able to get the cash out of my pocket quickly enough.

They are great machines. I restored and upgraded this one a number of years ago. I added a 3/4" hp 220v motor with a 110v VFD for variable speed. It does anything I ask of it.

I'm an idiot. Its pressed into the chuck p/n: Jacobs 6A 33 taper, cap 0-1/2

Is there a standard key for this chuck? I'm not really sure how to get the chuck off to bring it someplace to size up a key. Any help there is greatly appreciated. Note: first drill press ever and this is an old one.

I'll do some searches also. Thx

Thanks for the help. Would you know how to get the chuck off? I don't see any set screws, only the collar above the chuck that will turn about 1/4. Looks like it needs a wrench with pins.

You see that knurled collar above the chuck? That takes a pin spanner. You turn it with the spanner and it presses the chuck off the taper. But I would not recommend removing it unless it is really necessary. Than can be tough to remove.

Thanks for the advice. I really don't have a need to remove it at this time. Maybe when I get around to restoring the DP. Good to know about the spanner wrench though, I could see the tool in my mind but didn't know the name. I'll keep my eye open for one in case I need it in the future.

Got my K3 chuck key today!!! Worked like a charm!!! Next I need to tackle new 21" belts as the old ones are torn and frayed. Been reading that this is a bit of an effort but good info out there. Thanks for the help!

If it runs pretty true and all pretty much present and workable it worth it .
Would need spend some time and money make it more versatile though
can't go far wrong for 40-50bucks .
