Walker-Turner Driver Bandsaw u

I found a Walker -Turner BN 730 coming up for sale at an auction in a few days, can anyone give an approximate appraisal on one of these. I don’t have any other pictures and don’t really know the condition.

I'm not sure of the model number but I bought this 12" model in need of tires only - for $25 (but I consider that a deal although I may not have bought it otherwise). I like the table tilt control especially. It's on my "todo" list for refurbishing.

I don't see too many 12" band saws on cl under $100.
Almost all of the ones listed are **** no matter the price.

This is a nice one and would make a great little metal saw.

We're going to have to agree to disagree on this one. I spent a lot of time and money converting a 12" Atlas to cut metal. In the end, wood bandsaws just aren't built sturdy enough to take the blade tension required to cut steel dimensional stock.

I don't have a metal saw so I would yield to someone who has done it, as long as we are comparing equal saws.

I have one, it needs a new lower wheel though. I might move it along.

Hound I finally got around to repainting and installing new tires on my old saw , I came out a little bit greener than I thought it would but looks good.

I finally got around to finishing the Saw, it is working but I need a 1/2 HP 1750 RPM motor. The one I temporarily put on it is a 1/12 hp that came from a water pump. Harbor freight sells the motors but I really want to kept the machine all American made, If anyone has a motor they can part with shoot me a text. Thanks

Old news here, but for anyone reading this on a search, the Atlas is probably the strongest 12" wood cutting bandsaw ever made.

FWIW, since the Chicom horizontal/vertical metal cutting bandsaws are thick on the ground and for cheap, I picked up one used for $100 and sold the Atlas for $250.

I have a 12” Atlas Bandsaw in my garage, and just about everyone who stops by asks me if it’s for sale. They really are built like tanks, and run extremely well. If you happen to stumble across one, buy it!
