I recently picked up a neglected Walker-Turner GR35 grinder that someone converted to a buffer. It runs. My plan is to just use it as a buffer - finding the missing parts to turn it into a grinder would be a long, difficult process.


The wiring isn't great, and it's missing the start capacitor and the bottom plate. Two of the leads are tied together with neutral, and it mostly runs. Sometimes it runs backwards, but a little push before turning it on will get it running in the right direction.

There are 3 leads coming out of the 1/3 hp motor, which I think is wired like this:

Any suggestion on a start capacitor? I'm hoping that someone has one of these grinders and can give me a good recommendation. For the 1/3 hp, I'm thinking 88-106 mfd will be in the ballpark.
My plan is a new power cord, new start capacitor and fab up a new bottom plate. (hopefully, the larger round start capacitor will not require a spacer for clearance)
