I've in the midst of rebuilding a veteran - and rather mistreated - Walker Turner tabletop model drill press (900 series I believe). I've semi-successfully removed both the manufacturers tag and the retailers brass tags. This is the old model - pre-serial number. Figure that puts it late 30's - early 40's.

I"m trying to work out:

1) what the correct color for the WT tag is?
2) Anyone point me to a tutorial for clearing up and repainting the tags?

It appears currently appears as an Orange, or possibly red color (very faded) with black letters and Green(?) border. Under the Lupe, I think maybe the green is either later paint or corrosion and its maybe it was originally a black border with silver letters. I've searched online, but I've found these old ones tend to look orange with either a brass or silver border. Any thoughts (or better yet photos) would be helpful.

On restoring them, I was planning on Brasso to clean off brass highlights, but i'm not sure about how to best attack the colored parts. Any tips are appreciated.
