Wall alternative for water closet

Hair brain idea. I'm installing a toilet in the corner of my new 40x60 post frame constructed shop. I'm looking into suspended opaque industrial vinyl curtains for the 2 walls. Like door curtains you see in warehouses. The closet will be 60"x42". Curtains will be 8' suspended from 12'. The curtain will be weighted at bottom. There will be 30" worth of strip curtains for entry. I will conventionally frame, insulate finish the outside wall portion. Has anyone done or seen this done?

It might work ok if you install it properly, but I don't think I'd be comfortable using a bathroom with opaque curtains for walls and a strip door. Just my opinion.

I would frame it in and build a real wall. Also think about cleaning around the toilet, you may want to go a little bigger then 42" to make that a bit easier.
If you make it a bit bigger frame the ceiling so you have some storage on top of the closet...

+1. That's what I did. 60" x 42" is pretty small if you have a sink and toilet. 60 x 60 is minimum for half bath for a house most places and that is not overly roomy. I put the ceiling at 7.5 ft so the top is approx 8' so with 14' ceiling I have 6 ft above. I put an 8 x 8 ceiling over it for storage.

you can score used office panels pretty cheap around here, if you just want something free standing non-permanent to block visuals...

if you want cheap, get some of the HF moving blankets, the larger thicker blue ones, and hang them. I used a grommet tool to put grommets on them like a tarp to hang in the basement for sound/light blocking in my theatre room...

I know we're just spitballing ideas here, but good lord, gross... soft, absorbent materials as walls for a bathroom? I can't imagine the nastiness that would grow on those.

OP - If you are already going through the trouble to frame, insulate, and sheet the outside, just get some FRP or plastic panels for the inside and be done with it. Relatively inexpensive, no painting or finishing, and easy to clean/maintain.

Vinyl is hardly adsorbent it's not like I'm going to be hanging drapes from the living room. Flexible wall... be able to mop the **** out of this area. Sink will be on outside so I think plenty big for purpose. For modesty not privacy.

I was referring to the idea of using moving blankets or cubicle walls (which are often padded and have a fabric covering). I did misread your original post - only one wall will be framed out, so you won't be able to hang the panels I suggested.

I covered the drywall in my shop bathroom with FRP panels, if they are tough enough for fast food places and gas stations, they are good enough for my workshop.
