I learned about cheappegboard.com here but could not find any posts from someone who had ordered from them. So, hopefully to add some value to this forum, (as well as my workshop) I have ordered the 8 pack scratch and dent galvanized pegboard from them.

I am a little nervous because they offer no warranty or returns. The website states "Wall Control Metal Pegboard Panels are slightly blemished due to either scratching or small dents. The pegboard panels are all fully-functional and still look good"

Stay tuned for a full review and pictures of my experience.

I think what you'll find is their stuff is pretty decent and at surface value is a pretty good price. But because the attachments are a proprietary design, will get nickeled and dimes to death. I'm a big fan of pegboard but have stuck with the standard round hole stuff because of that. Good luck.

At $10 bucks a panel and free shipping, why not. I think I paid $25 a panel from amazon and was happy. After you hang stuff on it, you probably won't see much if any of the reason for it being so cheap. I am interested to see some pictures when it arrives.

Hope you come back and post a full review. Been thinking about getting some pegboard and am not too concerned about a few scratches.

I ordered two packs of the blue panels a few weeks ago. I had to search for the blemishes on most of the panels. A couple seemed like they had slide the part on a table with some dust and marred the finish slightly, but I was looking pretty closely to see it.

Another two panels had a slight bend on the corner of the backside that a pair of pliers took care of. I would definitely order again if I needed more.

I did not see anything close the damage shown in the sample photos.

I have the wall control set-up over my gun cleaning bench, and I really like it. I've been debating between the wall control set up or slat for my shop bench wall.

Cliffsnotes version - I am very pleased and would order again!

I ordered on the holiday weekend but my package was shipped promptly and I received it by UPS pretty quickly. Everything was packaged very well and double boxed for protection.
The first box: IMG_20160908_162351079.jpg

Contained these 2 boxes:IMG_20160908_163445619.jpg

X95Braat said it best when he stated that he had to search for the blemishes. They are there. But definitely the examples they give on their website are worst case scenarios. This one I could rub off:IMG_20160908_180408122.jpg

Had to look real close to find these:IMG_20160911_193930284.jpg

And I am very pleased with the end product!:IMG_20160911_193844398.jpg

I actually did not realize it until just now, but I did not get any mounting hardware with my purchase. It does not matter as I was installing in block. Not getting mounting hardware would in no way be a deal stopper for me. I would/will order from them again.
x95braat, thanks for chiming in on the colored pegboard, I would have guessed that damage on them would be easier to see. Your comment should help other folks that may be thinking the same.
Hope this helps. :rocker:

As per the pictures, they have round holes as well - i agree (and have bought many) that their proprietary items that go into the little slats can cost...but they are also (for the most part) clever and well designed (and constructed)

but if you want to go aftermarket and just use the round holes, you certainly can

i am very happy with this product

Very tempted to order some of this for the wall behind my soon-to-be-built workbench instead of finishing the drywall and painting. I've never liked pegboard as it always looked cheap to me and preferred the look of slatwall. But with the slots and the fact that they're metal and come in different colors I think these panels look pretty darn good.

Has anyone cut up the panels to trim around windows, outlets...etc? Just wondering how that looks or how easy/hard it may be.

I have this up in my garage, 6 panels total (and have an extra 2 still to mount). It's pretty slick stuff and uses standard pegboard hooks as well as their proprietary stuff. Their stuff is definitely the nicest for it and once you adjust the little tabs locks in quite well. I've never liked pegboard either but this stuff is durable and looks better and stays cleaner so I'm sold.

As for trimming, all of the edges are turned over so that it self spaces the 1/2" or whatever from the wall. Trimming the edges I'd avoid, but if you need a cutout in the middle a jigsaw with a metal blade and then some gentle filing should do the job.

That's great news. For whatever reason I thought I remembered the spacing of the round holes not matching other companies attachments. But now that that's been debunked looks like I'll have to get me some. Thanks guys.

100% uses standard pegboard spacing for the round holes. I have multiple brands of pegboard hooks on mine in addition to their proprietary ones and they've all worked fine. The only thing is, you must use 1/4" only pegboard accessories and not 1/8" or even the dual 1/8" and 1/4" size.

Copy that. I stopped using those 1/8" POS's a long time ago.

My order just arrived, bought 8 of the pegboard panels (in white) and about $80 of accessories (in black). This was a bit of an impulse buy as I've never liked pegboard but this seemed like a decently affordable (and more importantly quick) way to get some really good storage above the bench I'm building.

Mine were a bit more banged up than the photos others posted and all the accessories were in a box with a bit of paper packaging on top but all of the pieces just thrown into the box. If they aren't "blems" prior to shipping they definitely will be by the time they arrive. But it should do for my needs. I'll try to get some pics up once they're mounted.

Yeah, now you post this I just bought some at Menards on Friday and redid my chainsaw work area on Saturday. I went with the heavier press board, turned out ok.

Kind of resurrecting an older thread here, but for those of you that ordered the blemished hooks, how did they turn out? I don't mind a few scratches in the pegboard, but more concerned with the powder coat on the hooks being exposed to rust and scratching up the items I place on the hooks. Just curious how the blemished hooks turned out. Thanks!
