Wow just went looking online.

Uh oh...

8 negative feedbacks in the last 5 days!

Also a new listing for $20 free shipping from Florida

Isn't that were these were to come from also?

Nothing under the storefront anymore either

Yeah, this is bad news for all the legitimate affiliates. But maybe Amazon is ok with that...

Yup another scammer using someones old account. 5 minutes with chat support and a refund was provided, after they looked all the pile of issues with the seller.

I also think my seller for the Magic Heat was a scam. I contacted Amazon today, will see what they do. I just sent 'em an email, not in a huge hurry.

Nope don't be keeping your fingers crossed on this one

20 more negatives were posted in the last 3 days. But that selling account is long gone too...in fact the second scammer one with the Florida address is also gone. But now there is third one but with a MI address CJRAy...unreal!

I called Amazon CS back on Monday and started the A-Z refund process so by the time I get my next billing all should be good.

I shop Amazon a real lot and have bought all kinds of stuff from different sellers too. So **** like this really *****

When I inquired about these selling scams the CS rep was also somewhat bewildered with these faked seller profiles. So is this the general premise how they expect to get there money...that they hope payment gets credited to an account somewhere and will be quickly withdrawn before the purchaser realizes delivery is not forthcoming and seeks restitution with the CC. They play a long delivery time like 10 days. Curious how long it normally takes a 3rd party vendor to get the money from Amazon.

Also they are linked to an old account that has some sales history

Might be the last time I listen to you guys on good deal :D

I think Amazon could rectify a lot of this by just requiring a $5k deposit from new sellers. If you're truly looking to start a valid e-commerce $5k shouldn't be THAT prohibitive and after a year or maybe 200 positives (or something - this is all spit-balling) you get your deposit back.

This wouldn't solve the problem of hacking established accounts but so far what I've seen is NEW accounts w zero feedback. Any scammer is unlikely to give up 5 grand to get up & running - they'll just move on to easier hunting grounds.

Call or chat support works great, just ask them to look at all claims against this seller and they will credit you right away.

I don't really get this scam myself, I sell via amazon, new accounts have such a long hold placed on getting the funds released to them that they must be banking on people not reporting the item for 6-8 weeks.

I have been seling on Amazon as a 3rd party seller for over 12 years.

ANY just launched seller with tens o f thousands of items at ridiculously low priced items is a scam. This has been going on for months, and Amazon is still seemingly helpless to get it under control.

You can look at the seller forums to see just how poor Amazon is really doing on this problem. I'm afraid they have lost sight of a safe customer experience with all their 'hi tech' ideas.

Ebay is right now a much better and safer place to do your buying.

Agreed, or just stick to buying items that are Prime eligible as 95% of the time those items are actually in the warehouse.

I contacted Amazon and just said hey, you should really take a good look at this seller. They responded saying the seller was "a scammer" (their words) and they initiated an A to Z claim for me.

This was for my Magic Heat, not the pegboard in question. They referred me to another seller who now has it listed for the exact same price with exact same shipping charge. I looked at the seller and they have two positive feedbacks - ok that's something, right? I clicked on the feedbacks and they're from 2008. Almost surely an old/dormant account that has been hacked.

Amazon really doesn't get it. It's sad. They're a huge online retailer. This stuff should be obvious to them.

Also - while it will never happen - Amazon should have a price match guarantee where if you order from a 3rd party facilitated by their site and it's a scam, Amazon has to sell you the same product at the same price themselves.

Again, it'll never happen but THIS would make them take notice - ie hit 'em in the wallet and they'll sit up and do something.

I chatted with CS, initiated an A-z claim for the ones I ordered. Also left feedback for Amazon that they should find a better way to vet their sellers, and then immediately refund all orders when they determine there is a scammer instead of requiring the buyers to contact them.

I too started the A-Z process. This is why I don't buy to much from Amazon or ebay. Don't know (or take the time) to look and see what the seller is ranked. we will see how long it takes to get the account refunded.

How do I initiate a chat. Amazon should make it easier to find the path to refund in this type of situation. They keep telling me to contact the seller.

Nah go into the details of your order. Keep drilling down, select where's my stuff.....and then I'm sorry! I forget but keep clicking "contact" something and eventually you'll get three yellow buttons near the bottom for contact Amazon via chat, email, and something else.

I highly recommend desktop; I hate 90% of mobile sites and theirs is no exception. I can generally force it to stay in desktop mode on my phone *for shopping* but sometimes it insists on going to mobile if I start looking at orders/order details

Ok so

-Help
-Need more help
-select your order
-in box #2: where's my stuff
-in box #3 is options for contact Amazon via email, phone or chat. The buttons aren't yellow, they're more eggshell - sorry

But yeah, they don't make it all that easy to reach them via their website. They try to bury the buttons and hope FAQs will answer most peoples' questions

I had absolutely no reason what so ever to tear down my perfectly good pegboard until.... I saw they make this stuff, but I had already missed the deal (which turned out not to be) anyways I tried the scratch and dent thing and ordered 8 sheets for $99. Well they arrived today and this stuff is super nice. The metal is thick and heavy, the blue paint maybe powder coat looks great, and there wasn't a single scratch on any of the pieces. I think I got 8 brand new pieces and it even came with the mounting hardware that it said it didn't come with.

I haven't gotten a chance to hang it yet. My wife asked why I needed to redo the pegboard. I told her the holes shrink over time. She just said ok and went about her business. I sure hope the holes don't shrink on this stuff.

The shipping weight was 55lbs for 8sheets. This stuff is good quality.
