I needed a place in the shop to keep a laptop and some miscellaneous papers. Threw this together from some scrap radiata plywood. Two 4" structural screws into 2 studs and its rock solid.

It has worked out great!! The only thing I still need to do is add a ledge to the lower edge, Sometimes papers slide off.

I couple friends have asked about getting one, so I'll be building a couple more.

I was going to suggest a lip on the front edge but you already know why you need it. That looks like a handy project, nice job.
