I just installed a Broan 174 wall heater in one of the bedrooms in my remodel house. I'm going to use a wall mount thermostat because its already there and the wiring is there. my question is what do you do with the thermostat that's in the heater? just turn it wide open and let the wall thermostat carry it. or wire nut the 2 wires together that are connected to it

the instruction manual didn't say anything about what to do with it. the thermostat has a stud with 1 wire then an insulator then the other wire held on with a nut

You can keep it all the way up or set it in case the tstat fails and its not full blast. Just keep it set higher than what you would set the wall tstat
