I have ten and fourteen ft high ceilings and I was wondering if anyone puts led lights in the walls, I have extra eight ft lights and wondered

If they are the right height and orientation, wall mounted lights can be useful for lighting the underside of a car when on a hoist, but they are usually mounted fairly low, and oriented to shine the light upward.
It seems that a wall mounted LED that shines directly outward would be shining into your eyes, so they need to point up or down, based on what you need.

I remember going to a Texaco station with my dad when i was a kid, he got his work truck serviced there and knew the mechanic/owner. It had a single row of fluorescent lights the full perimeter of the shop, about 1 foot below the ceiling on each wall. It wasn't very bright but it didnt glare and wasn't annoying. I have no idea why i still remember that decades later, but its an idea ive been toying with for my own garage, just with 2-lamp fixtures. Its used more for body work than mecanic work now. Hopefully some of the lighting pros will chime in.

I have seen lights on the wall "in addition to" but not "instead of" ceiling mounted lights. I think upward shining lights would reflect off the ceiling and make the place feel taller.
I am really, really interested in lights mounted for the car lift. It would be easy to mount under a workbench and shine downward. I have doubts about floor mounted or lift mounted lights.
