My three-car garage has a 12-foot ceiling and I've already installed a ceiling fan over the two-car side, which has greatly improved heat circulation during the winter months.

Even with the fan, it gets very hot on the third car side during the summer. That portion of the garage extends back several feet creating a cove I use as shop area.

I'm considering adding a wall-mounted fan in the corner to circulate air in that area. Maybe something like this.

Does anyone have experience with any particular brand? I'd guess that I need a commercial grade unit, but I don't want it too noisy. Any particular preference or estimated cost?

Thanks!

Dayton makes great products . I have a Dayton 3VU36 Heater in my garage and it is a great unit . I would say if you can deal with the price go for it. I will add though to search the model number on the web as Graingers prices are not always the best price but they will price match .

I'm with eric on this one. My enclosed porch was capturing heat under the roof and making things uncomfortable. Some 10 inch chromed desk fans from Wal-mart ($10 apiece) mounted to the ceiling and pushing the heat out of there has kept it comfortable for three years now.

I hung a couple of $12 box fans from the ceiling. used a string to tie them back so there was a little bit of a down angle and it seems to help alot.

I have had a 20 inch box fan hanging from the basement ceiling for 10 years to keep the air moving around to the dehumidifier.
(BTW It works great. No dampness down threre.)
It has been running 24/7/365 all that time.
It did start to squeak about 2 months ago
I tried to take the blade off and put some light oil on the motor shaft but it wouldn’t come off.
So I drilled a small hole through the blade hub that would line up with the shaft side.
I laid it on it’s back at put some oil down it and it is back to being real quiet.
