Wall Mount Garage Vac

Whats the best wall mount garage vac with the best suction. It would be nice to get the blower option available too. I looked at the hoover, Vacumaid, and Kobalt. Just dont know what one is better.

Any help would be great.

If I am correct MetroVac makes a good one. I have their 4HP blower to dry my car. It also can vacuum but I don't use it in that capacity. I believe they make a wall mount. this unit is a dry only vacuum.

I have one of the Metropolitan vacs mounted on the wall. It came with a wall bracket for the hose. I added one new length of hose and can reach any area of the garage without taking down the actual vac. One word of caution...it's not a wet vac.

I also installed a 120V relay to the feed line for the vac outlet. Then, I rigged it up with a wireless remote so that I can turn the vac on or off anywhere in or near the building. The relay i used looks like a vacuum tube.

I had the Kobalt and it ended up "sucking" but not in a good way. They are/were made by Vacmaster.

I have the 5 gal Ridgid wall mount and really like it. It's out of the way on the wall but easy to take down when I want to bring it with me elsewhere.

Garagevac brand, another USA made model. This is also not a wet/dry vac, it's only for dry pickup. They are made by InterVac.

One benefit of this model is it's not very deep, so it doesn't protrude far from the wall and take up that much space. 6 year warranty.

Check out Garage Vac buy Vacu Maid. Just installed one in my garage, built a oak cabinet around it and really like the system. Nice powerful suction. Rven got a 50 foot hose for it.

My dilemma is where to mount it in my garage to get the best use out of it. I keep looking at my two post hoist as a good spot, but it's getting kind of full of stuff: retractable air hose, 110 outlet, future welding recept. outlet.

I say get yourself a new or used central vacuum system where you can pipe the outlets where ever you like!! Which uses a 30ft hose and endless attachments.

Vacmaster now makes Craftsman shop vacs in China. The previous Craftsman shop vacs were made by Emerson in Mexico.

That wall mounted unit is a Vacmaster model that's sold under many different brands.

I have this one. The motor on mine recently quit and I sent it in for warranty replacement. Ten days later there was a new, complete vacuum sitting on my front porch. They included all the hoses, attachments, and everything.

I have a couple of central vac outlets in the garage, and I also have a central vac mounted on the wall. I picked up a Nutone central vac that was slightly damaged for very little money, and that is why it is mounted in the garage, even though I didn't need it. I paid less than the cost of the hose.

How did the warranty process go? I assume you had to submit your original receipt?

I recently bought a Ridgid wet/dry vac with the claimed "lifetime" warranty, but I haven't read many reviews of warrantying the vacuums.

I called them, they gave me a claim number, stuck the entire power head (upper 1/2 of vac) in a box and sent it in. I was shocked to receive more than just a new power head. They also sent an additional filter to compensate for the shipping costs of sending in the old power head.

I got a smoking deal originally too. HD was closing out that model in the link above in their stores and I got the floor model for an additional discount. I think it was around $30.

I have this one. I found it at an outlet place for a good price but to be honest I don't like it, hardly ever use it. The suction is low compared to Craftsman and Rigid models I've had plus I don't like the smaller diameter hose. With a loooong *** hose it'd be a huge improvement to have the controls on the business end.

I've got the same and only cost about $65.00 and I'm happy with it. It's a freaking vacuum cleaner guys, ***** up dirt and thats it. No reason to go spend megabucks on some fancy looking thing with remote control. Save the money for more important things like beer and car parts.

I've installed a lot of central vacs in service stations, glass shops and body shops and IMO you can't go wrong with Vacu maid. A lot of shop buy the split unit and mount the motor outside or in a separate room and mount the dirt canister in another location thus keeping the noise to a minimum.
If your going to run some vac tubing, make sure and use 'sweep' 90s and 45s. Also, if your going to be sucking up a lot of abrasive material your going to wish you used Alum 90s on your tubing.

Interesting, you use the wall mounted vs. the metro vac for cars? Also, doesn't that metrovac mount to the wall?

Been reading on a lot of these (I have to read every review for every purchase I make), the vacu-maid seems to have the highest % of positive reviews.
