Looking for some advice on wall mount vacuums. Did a search and most of the threads on these vacuums are quite old. I'm looking for something with at least a 30' hose. It will be used for general shop cleanup. I just built a second garage that will have my 4-post lift and will be primarily used for auto and motorcycle maintenance. I also do some woodworking and welding. I hate my current Rigid shop vac as it's just too unwieldy to move around. I'm currently looking at the Vacumaid brand but am open to suggestions.

I have the Vacumaid GV50Pro. It's an excellent vacuum. No complaints.

I also have a Craftsman Clean and Carry 5 gallon wall mount wet/dry vac. I've had it for 20 years. I added the same 50 foot hose from the Vacumaid. The longer hose is a must. The only complaint I have with the Craftsman is it doesn't have a bag like the Vacumaid. Makes emptying it and cleaning the filter a royal pain.

Should I grab this for a couple of hundred bucks and then pay for a hose reel or whatever is it worth getting or is it too outdated? Does it matter? I’m looking for something for a two car garage that I can have real power vacuum maybe I would run PVC and then use shorter hoses at the locations. Tell me what you guys think

Not exactly the same question but I asked something similar recently and there is a lot of good info about mounted vacuums in this thread, https://www.garagejournal.com/forum...-long-hose-or-hose-reel.544864/#post-11116819
