Wall mountable shop fan recommendations

Here in south Florida, it’s summer 11 1/2 months out of the year and my garage is a veritable hot box. My uninsulated garage door doesn’t help the situation any. At some point in the future, I’ll put in a mini-split system, but for now, I need to go the fan route.

Looking for recommendations for a wall mountable fan with a regular plug. Ideally it would oscillate, but should at least be able to be positioned to point where I need it. Remote control would be great, but not necessary. Shop size is 22 x 20 x 9.

Thanks, guys.

Anything that will be big enough to move air anywhere in that size shop is going to be noisy enough you wil want to drive nails into your skull to escape it. Hit up the local ac guys about grabbing a couple of central air takeout units for the blowers in them. Make yourself a swivel wall mount or a small cart.

We live in Texas, not much different.

Agree with cvairwerks, those large squirrel cage fans in HVAC air handlers move a LOT of air and they're reasonably quiet. I have two in my shop, they were free for the asking.

If you decide to go this route, you might want to do a little research. Some of these fans (like mine) require 220vac to run at full speed. You can connect them to 110vac service, but they won't run as fast.

Noise shouldn’t be an issue. Most of the time when I’m using power tools I’m wearing earplugs and I often just leave them in for hours. Interesting suggestion, though. I’ll definitely have to explore that option.

We've got big barrel fans to supplement the Port-A-Cools at work. Even wearing ear plugs with a NRR of 33, the drone of the fan blades will wear on you. There are times the fans only get shut off when we do an engine start for launch, or during recovery. I know that there have been times that the fans ran 24/7 for nearly a week at a time in the summer. Not unusual to have the hangar floor well over 100F at 3 am and both hangar doors open.

Maybe this or a couple of 20" box fans, $19 mounted with brackets.

I grabbed these two wall mount fans from Northern Tool when they went on sale a few years ago for like $60 each. They oscillate and move a ton of air.

Couldn't tell you what brand they are. I don't even think they say. But my shop isn't that big...These fans are only about 20" in diameter.
