Wall mounted lights for garage

Good morning, I'm getting to the point of the build where the electrician is coming in to install fixtures and lights.

I'm planning on mounted some long CFL lighting along the walls but don't know what height I should do it.

Electrician thought 6' would be a good height but I'm 6'1" and thinking that might be irritating being right at eye height.

my garage is 30x30 with 13' ceilings.

i thought those things were supposed to be at like door panel height, roughly 4'
i guess it depends what you're using them for. when i see detailing shops they sit a lot lower than 6'

I used 4' LED hanging shop lights threw out my shop, they are chain hung and plugged in with enough cord to hang to 7'. I have most of them adjusted to the lowest height I can get away with for the area they are in. But I can change them easily at any time. I have 18 of them in my 26x40 with 12' ceilings and it's like daytime in there. Great for my old eyes.

My garage ceiling is finished...so we mounted our fixtures to the ceilings. The ceilings are about 9'. A couple are mounted on the wall at a smiliar height where the ceiling is vaulted for a lift. Plus, morning on the wall won't give you light in the middles of the bays...only the perimeter.

I too would suggest hanging fixtures by chain as RWorth suggests...plus wall mounting may affect where you later decide to put cabinets, storage, etc...
