Wall mounted storage racks

Hi!
New poster/lister. Have, after some three decades, acquired a two car + garage. A new addition to the home, and a trade off for SWMBO and her walk-in closet.

Would like to add two foot depth shelving to the rear wall. about five feet up, so I do not have to climb a ladder to add/remove bins upon bins of parts. Net search has lots of stuff, many not available in Canada. and the prices seem rather high for something I can fabricate using basic tools.

Any suggestions?

Apologies; once I get into the GJ site, I can probably do a search to get what many of you have done before. If the pic uploads, then you may be able to figure out my constraints. To the left of the wagon is about six feet then my cabinets and work benches.

I picked up some stainless laundry racks at a surplus sale ($25 each), each one had 8 X 5'X1' sections. Worked great for me, a little easier to see into the shelf with the wire. Don't rule out the high storage, great for those seldom used items. Here's a pic:

Basic 2x4 construction and some method to attach one half of it to the ceiling is a very easy and inexpensive option. You can get fancy or keep it basic.

I installed 24" wall mount shelving in my garage. I wanted it wall mounted so I could easily clean the floor. I also wanted the shelving to be adjustable to adapt to future use and I wanted to be able to easily remove it and take it with me when I move. I needed it to be very heavy-duty so I don't have to worry about what I put on it.

I ended up using commercial grade extra heavy-duty brackets and standards. These typically cannot be purchased at your local building supply store, although there may be some exceptions. I found them online at a specialty hardware supply company.

I agree about running the shelves closer to the ceiling. It's good space for items you want to keep but seldom if ever need to access.
