Wall Mounted Thermostat for Ceiling Mounted Electric Heat

I've pretty much settled on a ceiling mounted Utility heater for my 24 x 28 garage. Ceiling is about 9'. Rather than use the internally mounted thermostat, I would like a wall mounted one I think. Question is, with the heaters that have fan delay, how would you wire a wall mounted thermostat as it would kill the fan delay when it cuts power to the unit. (For instance the fan circuit on the Farenheat units appears to use both legs of the 240V circuit)

Has anybody installed one of these with a wall mounted thermostat? If so, how did you do it? Or does everyone use the built in thermostat?

I was trying to figure this out when I mounted my 240v heater to the ceiling(10ft). I just use a scrap piece of 2x4 to turn the knob on the built in thermostat as it's got a rough texture on it. Much cheaper than buying another thermostat.

Welcome aboard.

Try the search function or use Google with “garage journal” in the search string. There are probably 1000+ threads on this topic here.

Model number for heater will also aide the responses you get.
