Wall Outlet Conversion

Is it possible to use a phone jack that is in the wall next to a regular power outlet and convert the phone jack to charge USB? My phone jack doesn't get used and I want to make the outlet useful.

Remove the phone wire completely from the box (or install an old work box if there is none behind the jack)

Tap and fish a piece of Romex from the nearby outlet and install one of these:

They also make regular 120vac duplex receptacles with USB ports built right in them, you could simply replace the existing outlet with one of them and leave the phone jack as is.

Does the phone jack even have a box behind it, or does it just a ring? The above suggestion is a good solution to the problem.

Less work than fishing wire for a new outlet...

The phone jack has a box behind it, I pulled it out to get a lay of the land, also, there happens to not be a stud between it and the power outlet they're actually on the ends, it's basically set up in a fake column in the kitchen the builders put in. But I like the no fishing idea, haha. Although it does look like they had some after thought as I see a hole in the back of the box that might run to the power outlet. I'll have to pull that out and peek in that box.
