Looking for ideas for hanging items on wall in metal building. Most hangars are for wood construction not purlings. Anyone built their be own or have ideas to get things off the floor (garden tools, weed eater,etc.). I know there must be some smart ideas out there. Thanks.

Hang roofing tin from the floor, or top of foundation, to the 1st purlin. This gives you protection of the insulation and countless options for hanging items. Use pop rivets or self tapping sheet metal screws to attatch drawer handles (hang tie downs, tow ropes, etc), cord hangers, ladder hangers, even drill holes correctly and use pegs for pegboard.

Heavier items I have drilled directly to the purlin and made racks that hang down from that to hold heavier stuff. Even car ramps hang from a simple hook with self tapping screws and hooks. Like on my drill bit cabinet you can screw it to the tin and also add L brackets to the bottom to help support the weight.

Lots of options.

Drill bit cabinet, pipe clamps hanging from a clip type broom rack from Walmart.

Steel rack or lumber rack bolted to the purlin and weight transfered to the floor. The purlin only holds the rack from falling over, not supporting any weight.
