Gents,

I'm getting close to finishing up the color scheme on my shop walls. But it took a lot of looking around to see what I liked. How about posting up some pics(one or two max) of what you did. No descriptions necessary, but maybe list what paints/color material you used? Kind of a gallery of wall ideas. Anyone?

Not even necessarily your own, perhaps something you've seen on the net or in an ad?

IMHO, it really depends on what you're going to do with the floor. When I did mine, I did the walls in a very pale gray. I was planning on doing a 12-inch blue "racing stripe" around the room at the three foot level. Once I did my floor, I thought that would look too busy so I left it plain.

I thought you already painted your walls gray?

I did my back wall a bright red and I like it, throws some color into the place.

I left the two side walls white though so it is still nice and bright in there. I'll post a couple pics when I get a chance.

Here's a pic of mine before i did any other decorating, to the walls. Its a 4" red stripe (vinyl) with a 2" black stripe under it, with 2" space between the 2. Top portion is bright white, lower portion is a light gra, which stops where the black stripe starts, and masks/hides the raw edge of the paint... originally was going to put the stripes higher up, but decided the less gray i had, the brighter/bigger the garage would feel.

Camarojoe,

I'm doing something similar and yours was one of my favorites. I've got the same white/gray walls and after trying a few different variations it's gonna be (top to bottom)

white wall
4" black
2" red
grey wall

Upper portions of the walls and ceiling are white. Paint below the flame border paper is a shade of the grey Armour Seal floor

Cutch,

are you going to hand paint or just roll a MT tire in paint then roll on your ceiling?

I have enough trouble lifting a 35x12.5 tire plus steel wheel to change a spare let alone lift it up over my head to a 10 ft ceiling.

A buddy of mine's daughter will hand paint it for me.

I just might skip the red stripe, black alone is lookin good! A laser line is critical for application.

I found the perfect "stripes" at Mcmaster.com Page 1763 $19 for a 60 yard roll! This stuff is like thick electrical tape, and shows the texture of the walls underneath. You'd swear it's painted on with razor sharp lines! The finish is best described as "semi-gloss" which matches the paint perfectly.

The specs:
------------------
Solid Color Marking Tape
This general purpose, adhesive-backed PVC tape is 6.8 mils thick and is supplied on a 3" ID cardboard spool. Meets Fed. Spec. PPP-T-66, Type 1, Class 2. For indoor and outdoor use. To Order: Please specify black, blue, green, magenta, orange, red, white, or yellow.
------------------

Here are pics of the before and after:

What are you guys using for your black and white flooring?? I'm in the process of redo my kitchen with a garage "theme" which will include a 12 inch by 12 inch squared black and white checkerboard pattern on the floor.

I've priced linoleum ($2.69 sq foot for the one piece sheet stuff) and linoleum one foor square pieces ($.66 each).

Do I have any other options??

Here are some pictures from earlier this year. Top portion is light gray, bottom is medium grey. Stripes are heavy duty vinyl. Laser level is a must to get the stripes done right.
