Attached are some pictures of a vise I bought yesterday. I posted a a group picture yesterday of it along with other vises and tools I got at the same time; I've identified everything but this one. I've never seen another like it nor have I been able to locate anything on it. There is a brass tag on the brace that reads: "Wall Vise Co. Boston Mass. Patent Applied For". I suspect that the patent was denied, or the application was abandoned since there is no record of any patent assigned to the Wall Vise Co. I have been unable to locate any on-line reference to the Wall Vise Company. I think that the Wall Vise Co. must have anticipated substantial sales given their sizable investment in patterns and tooling. It looks complete except for the bracket or brackets that mount it to a wall. I have some ideas about fabricating a bracket and I am sure I can make one that works, but I'd really like to duplicate the original. If anyone here has one of these vises of any size (mine has 2 1/2 inch jaws that open to nearly 8 inches, please send a picture. Also would be thrilled to get any info on the Wall Vise Company.

Looks like about 1923 would be a good time to focus your search. These three are pretty much the same blurb I imagine, one may have a name or something to get you closer to a patent. With an address, I nailed down another patent earlier. this month. (Have not read these)

Here is a spanish language version for the multi lingual among us.

739 boylston st Milton MA shows up in furniture patents in 1968, Milton seems to be the same as a Boston address per google maps.

Other things like choir practice took place at that address in 1922, so maybe just an office bldg, or a sweatshop, also some garment workers there, in 1928

Robb Hamilton was formed in 1923

Robb nor Hamilton as a company show up in DATAMP. Google Patents does not have anything by them, but a Hamilton Robb invented a yarn winder in 1908 ish.

Now that is a cool vise. Swing Lock Wall Vise. Do you have the rest of it? Or can you go back and find the rest. It could be possible to create the other parts.

That is an interesting design for sure. Here is a pic I just stole off the big vise thread that Lugz linked there. This one Joe Striper had posted in 2017. I think this tread could use a pic as well. Looks like you could fab something up to make it useable fairly easy. Ed.
