I'm planning to alternate pegboard and GearTrack on a section of wall over a workbench. My idea was 6 inches of spacing between each track, and a 4-6 inch strip of pegboard in between, to give myself maximum flexibility (Gladiator's cabinets call for 18" spacing, and the center rail is to give myself more options for hanging large or heavy objects.) My first choice was Wallpeg because I live in Florida and I've seen a lot of fiber and wooden pegboard fare poorly in the humidity here, and it's cheaper than steel.
The problem is, Wallpeg sells nice 4x24" strips, but only in black. I really wanted the pegboard in white to match the GearTrack rails. So, unless I find an alternative plastic pegboard that's the right shape, I'll have to get more of their larger white pegboards and cut them to size, which will also require investment in a cutting tool appropriate for making clean, straight cuts in thick plastic - and I'm not sure where to begin on that, as someone who almost never does anything remotely adjacent to carpentry.
Has anyone tried to modify Wallpeg? Or is there an alternative I should be considering?
