One Walmart just got their rack up and stocked. Two weeks later, they are on clearance.

The other Walmart that's had them for a few months, has them on clearance now.

Neither of my close Walmart’s ever had the singles out. May check the big local one again though since you said yours only got one 2 weeks ago. Thanks for the heads up!

Old Lady Walton had a fit when She heard some single Stanley was hanging around the tool section.
I wouldn't care to ask why She had a fit; as I have heard She can still swing a nasty cane.

Some of those Walton doings seem to be rather private stuff.

Walmart usually sells eggs by the dozen, and candy by the bag. Finding separate sockets hanging on a peg that could hold a full set, while using the same labor and record keeping is an eye opener. Take that times the number of stores; that is quite a labor and record keeping expense. The fact that they are on clearance comes as no shock.

The best thing about the deep well sockets, is that they are 6 point and the length is in between the short and other deep well I have.

The sockets they sell in sets for $19 are 12 point.

1/4" drive regular were $0.75, deep were $1.
3/8" drive regular were $1, deep were $1.50.

I think 1/2" were $2.50, but are 12 point.
Wrenches were $2.50 or so.

I got the 1/2 metric set they have a while back. Held up just fine for a few brake jobs. For the price I’m happy with them.

It's because the Stanley Craftsmans are coming to wallyworld. You didn't think Stanley was going to let Lowes have ALL the fun did you? :p

Clearing for Craftsman maybe?

Maybe, maybe not. Walmart will do short runs of stuff at specific stores and use sales numbers to determine whether it stays or not. Because of that you may find tools at other locations that your local store doesn't carry. I've seen minor differences in what stays in our local stores and they're only about ten minutes away from each other.

Yeah I remember seeing a post about that when they come onto the scene a few months back..... might be a cheap way to fill out a mid set or Hansen tray. 4.5mm here I come!

My 1/2 Stanley set had a socket my harbor freight holder didn't have a spot for. They included a 9mm 1/2 so now my ocd bugs me because it's just sitting beside the tray

Just came back from my local wally world and their Stanley sockets and wrenches are also on clearance. Several rows were empty and it doesn't look like they are restocking. They started carrying these 2-3 months ago so it appears this was a short run to test the market. The Stanley tool sets weren't on clearance and wally world has been selling them for years.
