Just got done building my 30x50x12 shop and want a 2 post lift. Any suggestions on brands. I have been looking at a lift made by WORTH in Texas, anybody have one. I would need a 10k capacity lift. Anyway, if anyone has any insight on this brand, let me know. I did contact their salesman, and he said they don't have their's 3rd party tested, but do their own to CE standards so they can sell them in Canada. Was also looking at some Bend-Paks and some by Direct Lift. A Mohawk System 1 would be nice, but it is $6100.00 delivered. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This "can of worms" has been opened many times here. Do a search. There are exhaustive discussions on this topic.

I'm biased....I have a Direct.

From what I understand, this is a false statement. CSA or ULc do NOT recognize CE mark as acceptable proof of electrical safety. At least here in Ontario, ESA would not pass this lift and I don't know for sure but I think BC will not either. You need one that has an ETL label on it.

Since you are in the US of A, it might not be a concern since some states appear to be much more lax with their electrical safety enforcement.

10,000lbs aint nothing for steel, that 5000 a post which is light, so steel not the problem. 10,000 not nothing for hydrulic, so whats left, locks and welds. To keep a lift from pulling out of the ground and tiping over would be footprints. I really like Mohawks footprint. That sucker is huge. Look at how the posts are gusses to the footprint. really a bigger problem would be your concrete than the lift. In new construction, I would serious think about some 5000 concrete and embedded anchor bolts about a foot thick under the post. Now they only call for four inches 4000. but the extra concrete cheap.

Yeah, I do like the footprint of the Mohawk, but man are they pricey. I poured concrete where the post will sit a bit thicker. It is probably about 2 feet deep x 4 foot wide and 11-12 foot across w/ rebar. Everyone seems to think their lift is better than the other, which is understandable. I really want to cap my lift price at 3K or below, so as much as I like the Mohawk, I believe it is out of the question. Unless I hooked up with some rich woman that likes to work on Jeeps and such.
I am leaning towards the Bend-Pak. The Worth guy hasn't contacted me back as to why it isn't certified as well as a couple of other questions, maybe he is busy or something. I just haven't heard much about Worth, but they do look like a nice lift. I wish their website was more informative. I think alot of you are correct, just order one and be done with it. I just one of those cats that likes to research certain toys before I buy them.

Have you looked at Challenger Lifts? I have a two post and have been very happy with it. They are located in Kentucky and their lifts used to be made in the US, at least they were when I purchased mine about 3 years ago.

I got the bendpak 9xl. its the one with the cables on the bottom. yes I like the lift, really do, but with a dead engine it hell to roll over the hump. I did not get the overhead because I did not have enough height. Thinking about cutting a trench for the cables so I can have best of both worlds. also my door hit the post, its not a offset. had to do over, I buy the offset 9xl, cut a trench. But one good thing about a four post, dont have to get on my knees for the arms. But I do like my two post 9 xl. I think I paid $2300 for mine couple years ago
