Hi folks. I'm brand new to the forum. Let me know if I've posted this in the wrong place. I have an old single car, detached garage, built in the 1920's. It's in pretty darn good condition considering it's age. Over the years the lots of the interior wood on the walls has been replaced, the previous owner installed all new electric with it's own box, overhead lighting, etc. The garage is currently in disarray though and I'd love to build an overhead plan on my computer to start my garage overhaul project, something like this pic.

Does anyone here know of an app or program, preferably free, that I can use to create something like this?

Thanks in advance! :D

What are the outside dimensions of your garage?

Ridge down the center the long dimension? Approx roof pitch?

I'm creating something in Illustrator right now. Couldn't really find anything worth my time on line.

Homerr: The outside dimensions of the garage are 12x20ft. I don't know how to figure out the roof pitch. Why do you ask?

Homerr: Thanks so much for your suggestions. I guess right now I'm not too concerned about making a floor plan in 3D. Cad is super cool though, wish I had access to it. I have Sketchup on my computer, no license though. Rino I've only heard of.

What I'm doing in Illustrator is fine for now, but I will want to do something a little more professional. I'll look into what these programs can offer me.

Inkscape is a free vector graphics program that will let you make a figure like the one you showed.

Sweethome 3d is free. It made figuring out where to put the cabinets in my new garage easier. That and how to stuff two actual vehicles into a "two" car garage when it's going to be icing/snowing.

It's only about 20'6"X18'6" so with stuff it's tight. The program was precise enough to show that the extra two inches depth on one wall from the door opening to the wall made it worth putting the benches on that side.
