New here...first post. My question: I have a 35 year old garage floor that has pitting where the cars park. I want the floor to look nice and smooth. I need advice on how to repair the concrete I want the repair to be robust, and be able to hold up to salt in the winter. Any ideas? Thanks

I'm about to do the same thing as you. Unfortunately, my floor looks much worse than yours. I'm going to smooth and patch my floor with EpoxyMaster's Crack Patch kit (4 kits actually) before I lay down the Epoxy.

My non-expert opinion: I would get some patching material with a very quick cure time. Rent a diamond grinder and vacuum, get it in the early afternoon. Grind the floor, when done clean all the dust. Get out your patch kit and patch away. Get up the next morning and re-grind the floor. Just pass quickly over the non patched areas but smooth out the high marks / trowel marks where you patched. Get a nice even profile. You should then be ready to coat it.

Don't scrimp on the prep work, it is the most boring, tedious, but important.

Time it right and you get 2 passes with the grinder in one 24-hour rental period.

Our epoxy patch material can be used to resurface over the rough spots.
I would suggest you not use all the aggregate in the kit and make a slurry.
Then you can feather trowel out the slurry to cover the rough spots.

Once this has been done you can go over it with a "High Build" epoxy coating and you will not be able to see it. Good luck.

there is also a self leveling concrete. they use it over ceramic tile and then you can colorize it. another way of not taking up ceramic tile and gettin rid of it.
