I am looking for an assembly drawing or exploded diagram for an old Black and Decker Two Speed Drill.

The drill was jammed so after disassembly/cleaning and new brushes I think it should be fine. Unfortunately I don't think the bearing, washers, spacers etc. are in their correct places. Does anybody have an assembly drawing or parts diagram that shows parts location.

The model number is unknown as the sticker is missing! so I have attached pictures of the drill so someone may recognize the model or have one similar. Its an old drill but solid and fits my jigs. Made in the 60s - 70s its two speed with 13mm chuck. Tried all the usual places inc. B&D but they have nothing on file (a model number would help probably) so if anyone knows the model, or has one similar with a drawing please contact me. If nothing comes up I'm looking for a replacement Drill.....
Its possibly a D720 but not sure.
Thanks.

Looks like a D720 to me also, there was also a D720H which had a hammer action and a D520 which had a 3/8" chuck.

I've had a couple of these drills apart in the past. I don't remember having any problems with sorting out where the various shim washers went. I think I just paid close attention to inside diameter and wear/witness marks when reassembling and they worked fine.

Don't forget a couple of drops of oil in the small hole for the rear armarure bush and to shape the new brushes to suit the curvature of the commutator if not already done during manufacture.

I checked out a few websites in the UK to see if any exploded parts diagrams showed up but no luck, model no. wasn't listed except on Ebay which had a few of these 'vintage' drills for sale.

Good luck with the rebuild, it's nice to see someone preserving these great older drills.

Hi thanks for the reply. I rebuilt the drill taking notice of diameters and the witness marks, one of the problems is the two speed assembly, if something is out of register or position selecting gear it jams. I thought it was jamming on the stator/brushes and it may have been on the old brushes, replaced these and they're free running but the motor will only turn clockwise and jamming anticlockwise. I've checked the obvious and not so obvious and its still jamming. Simple mechanism unfortunately I didn't take it apart.

Can't help but kudos for taking the time to fix it. That model was the first drill I ever bought new back in 19#$.

Just an update on the post. No drawing seem available so I took a D520 to bits to see what went where, fairly basic but a lot more spring washers! Cleaned out all the old grease from the housing, gears and bearings and repacked with Lithium grease. The improvement in running was noticeable as was the reduction in noise. Hopefully it will last another 30 years unless thrown in a skip as being too old!

Here (in the US), we had three different model numbers based on this design from the UK:
7926 (VALUE-PLUS, 1976-1978; orange body)
7932 (Best, 1978-1981; golden yellow body)
7935 (TRADE, 1977-1982; dark gray body)

All were two-speed hammer drills.
