In working order, or easily repairable. Would like to find one by father's day for my pops. Larger and more powerful models preferred.

Not a Baldor, but I found this little no-name gem at garage sale for $5. The buffing head was mounted on a board along with the motor, I made that vertical stand for it and painted it all. With this style you can install any motor size you want. Still have to make some rests for it.

Even a bare bones arbour might fill the immediate need.

Thanks! I'd like to get him a Baldor though, he's been talking about how much he'd like to find one for 20 years and will be retiring soon.

I got the same one, from my Dad's farm...we used it to sharpen stuff.
(should work good, for buffing....and cheap setup)

I'd be interested in some pictures if you don't mind. Shipping might be deadly though.

I have found both a 1800 & 3600 RPM Baldors on Craigslist in the past. I found so many I would up with one more than I wanted, but the price was right, so I picked it up and sold it to a friend. They are out there, and sometimes they will be a great price, and other times not. They have gotten quite expensive over the past few years, and the stands are expensive also. Keep looking, because shipping will add no value to the buffer itself. If you were to have one shipped cross country, you would be better off just buying a new one for the difference in cost plus shipping. I believe that Granger's sells them.
