Hey gang,
Just like the title says, I'm wanting to build in lower NH near the MA line. I have another real estate transaction hopefully (fingers crossed) nearing the end, so I'd like to settle the scores on some other ventures and finally put in the "his" set of garages. I currently have a 2 car standard under-house garage with the split entry, but with it being the standard "size" (builder), my pickup isn't very happy in there, and the other side is occupied by her vehicle. So currently the expensive pickup is sitting outside, and the cheap-o Mustang weekend/sunny day toy is inside - makes no sense.
I initially thought about 24X24, that grew to 24X30, and now I'm considering a 30X30 and everything in between that and the 24X30. I think I can get away with a monolithic slab up here with all the rock, but I'll get a professional opinion of course. It's a pretty level area.
Anybody up here care to chime in as to what I could expect to pay for such a thing? I'd like to be in at around $25K. I'm an engineer and I've done just about everything - I just finished my third floor of my house myself, so I know the basics, but time is worth writing the check for. I built a large shed in my free time and it took close to a month from framing to finish exterior carpentry; this is why I'm looking to have someone come in and knock it out - and I know that comes at a cost. So basically I'd be looking for an exterior-finished 2-bay (up to) 30X30 attic garage (with stairs), roofed and vinyl sided shell sitting on a monoslab or a footing foundation. Think that's a doable thing at 25K? I can finish it and I can wire it. I want to be able to get the shell done before winter then do it how I want in terms of electrical/lighting/insulation/walls with the months following.
