any one know where to find what I would call "fake" alumin diamond tread? I want to cover my cabinets and such but with out the actual cost of actual alumin diamond tread plates. I dont want the 1 ft squares either. it would look too patchy.

I am just looking for ideas for now. I still need to get the jib crane in first. I thought about painting the cabinets but I have wood as well as steel cabinets. and paint would look too different between the 2. thanks.

I would think a logo or print shop could get you something in a vinyl with a sticky back that you could apply to whatever you want. I did a quick search for diamond plate vinyl roll on eBay and came up with this....

It's 24" x 30' long. I have never used it, but I know I have seen a few guys here on GJ use a 6" strip to break up the two paint colors on their garage walls instead of painting it. It looks very clean and crisp on the pictures I've seen. This might be an option for you.

ya I started looking on ebay and found that. the widest I have found at all is 24" and longest is 30ft. I may have to go that route. it is all flat with out the texture of actual diamond tread.

I have 4 stand up cabinets and 2 wall/long ways cabinets. one of which is wood and like 8ft long. After I paint the walls and such I think I will get the diamond tread roll of ebay and do my cabinets to all match. thanks for the heads up.

has anyone used this and any opinions on such???? thanks

We use a product called Acrovyn in hospitals all the time as wall protection. Thin plastic sheets you stick to the wall. I have some diamond plate pattern as the backsplash in my shop shhets are 4'x6' or so. not cheap but the stuff is awesome. any pattern you may want they have..

Try wrisco in Chicago or harborsales.net. Harbor bought out custom cut last year and I got 48 x 96 sheets of .025 bright diamond for about $45.00. The stuff is easy to cut you can mount it with FRP adhesives.
