I'd suggest avoiding this guy if he has reached out to you on a wanted ad. He responded to an ad I have out there. I noticed he only had 1 post and had just registered that same day, so that was a big red flag to start with.

He asked me to contact him through email. He told me he had a metric set, then sent me a photo of a SAE set. Then I asked him which one it was, and he said metric. Then he said that he had both, and sent me a photo of a completely different item. As far as payment, he doesn't accept PayPal but wanted to be paid by Amazon Gift Card. Another huge red flag.

I saw multiple members had viewed his profile here, so I assume he reached out to a lot of people, sent them some pictures he tried to find on the internet, and is trying to scam people. I see that his user id here has been banned already, but wanted to post this in case others are interacting with him via email.

I had a similar deal with this guy yesterday. Responded to my wanted ad for a Snap-on SNH18, then sent a pic of a 50's vintage breaker to my email. I told him the SNH18 is the hard plastic handle breaker, and he sent a picture of one, in an entirely different setting/background, asking the same $85 he wanted for the first one. Answers are very short and I bailed out too....

Add me to the list. Responded to my ad about a Craftsman Professional Bench vise and the pictures he sent me were of a plain old 6" CMAN vise. Needless to say I said no thanks.

Not sure if there is malicious intent, but there's something fishy for sure.

Same thing here. Asked to email him [email protected].

One thing to note is periods (most symbols don't) don't work in gmail. Gmail just drops them. You can setup filters though and use periods to segment your address and know exactly where they come from.
Coming from the world of information security and understanding how spammers and scammers utilize tools like this made it a red flag for myself. I googled the address/name and it brought me to this post that cemented my suspicion.

What ***** is I was hopeful that someone had the sockets I needed...
