i have a rachet that wont work is it covered under warranty

Yet another high quality post on the garage journal. Absolutely no information about the brand of the ratchet, issue, or even a picture of the ratchet. Could you put just a tiny bit more effort into posting? Is it really that hard to capitalize words, use spellcheck, commas and punctuation. If you can't be bothered to tell us anything about the ratchet or use proper grammar, why should we be bothered to help?

OP I recommend you search estate sales and Craigslist for an older U.S.A. made Wilton, then get a HF 44" box and upgrade your multimeter. Next step is to bang his wife using a good cutting oil not WD40. You can get it at Home Depot for a penny. Most importantly, don't forget that Craftsman quality has gone down.

Hot Rod yes your ratchet is 100% covered under Warranty.

It just so happens that I have the phone number and three good contact names that you can ask for in getting all the help you will need:

Be sure and ask for either Mr. Alvah Curtis Roebuck (sorry I do not have his Ext. phone line). He might be under the weather this week.

You can also ask for Mr. Richard Warren Sears (again I do not have his Ext. phone line number). Richard might also be rather hard to find today.

If you can not get ahold of them you can ask for Mr. Edward Lampert (I am sure they can patch you through to him).
