Washer/dryer requirements?

So I'm doing some remodeling.... Moving the W/D while at it. What size / type of wire should I stub in for the dryer 220V electrical?

10/3 with ground for the dryer 30 amp breaker
12/2 with ground for the washer 20 amp breaker

I should have given more info...My fault. It is a stack washer and dryer. It has just one electrical plug on it as I recall....

Check the back, there should be a marking that tells you the amps needed. More than likely 30 amps, which would reqiure 10/3.

You probably only need 30A @ 240V for your stack unit, but you should also run a 12/2 wire for 20A @ 120V in case you or a future owner replaces the stack combo unit with stacked separates. At least run the wire even if you don't hook it up!
