Wanting to introduce myself. I've been an infrequent lurker until I started to look at buying a lift...recently purchased a Dannmar MX-6. I have a semi-low ceiling height of about 10.5 feet. Unfortunately home lifts were not a big deal when I built my shop in 1998. I could have gone any height but never anticipated needing/wanting a lift.

I only work on Fords (mostly hot rods) from the late 20's thru the late 40's and these cars are tall compared to porsche and corvette. The MX-6 should allow me to roll around underneath on a stool. Hope it works out.

Anyway...thanks.

Welcome to the Garage journal.

I have a Rotary 2-post lift in a garage with a 11' ceiling. My daughter thinks the lift is the best tool in the shop; which it is pretty cool to have. O

FF: take pictures and maybe there is a way to change your trusses to allow for your lift height to go up. or best of luck with what you have.

is your AVATAR car yours? do tell how you combined a 40's car's top with a 70's or 80's car frame?

here's a link for you and the other guys posting on your intro thread where i started a thread for PNW guys to sort of hang out if you want to meet a few more locals.
