I figured it was time to start posting here since I have seen a few threads I would like to contribute to. I'm most active over at OWWM, and somewhat at Sawmill Creek; yes, I'm mostly a woodworking guy. My wrenching is now limited to changing oil these days, but I've had my share of busted knuckles and black fingernails in the past.
We're in the Pacific Northwest, about 12 miles due east of Everett, WA. We live out in the county on 7 acres with a home and separate shop set up for woodworking. I had a 12" metal lathe and vertical mill, but I sold them last summer to concentrate on the sawdust side. We've been here about 30 years.
I just (last summer) retired from teaching shop and Ag at one of the local high schools. A couple of years ago we decided to retire to a drier location, so we're in the process of moving to Richmond, Utah, about 12 miles north of Logan. We have an oversize lot in town with a small (800 sq') house on it. I finished the shop building last summer and moved all of my equipment into it, and once we sell our place here we'll move and live in the small house until we build our home. We hope to be in Richmond for good by late Spring.
