I'm ready to do my garage floor with Rustoleum and just found out that there is both solvent and water based product. Can anyone help me decide, any experience with the solvent stuff etc.?

Go with the solvent. More odor, harder cleanup, but solvent based epoxies are much better and more durable. I used a solvent based product from Sherwin Williams (ArmorSeal 1000HS) to do my floor. If you're going to go through all the trouble of prepping the floor, get the best stuff you can.

Definitely solvent-based. Water-based products just don't hold up as well. I used the armorseal 1000HS as well, and it seems to hold up very well to abrasion and chemicals.

the "average joe" likes water based coatings because they don't "stink" and they're easy to clean up. Well, you'll be throwing out your roller covers and brushes anyway, and you'll have to deal with the smell for a day or so.

I have the solvent based Rustoleum epoxy and it is good stuff. I'm very happy with it.
