Water containment mats

Who has them, what did you buy? I work on customer's vehicles in my shop when it's raining or snowing. I also like to park my wet side-by-side in there. Would be nice to contain it.

I used to have one when I did mobile auto detailing....they work ok but kind of a hassle when you are setting it up and taking it down all of the time

I used this Park smart in my garage in my old shop, the new one we live in has floor drains now though. They held the water nice.

I am wondering the same, my garage floor is a mess and all the water pools and runs into the corner near the house. I'd rather contain it then squeegee the garage out. Is this a reasonable expectation? My floor is spalled badly so a squeegee without the mat doesn't do much.

Check out the flooring forum on here, quite a few vendors that post sell them, that’s where I got the best deal. First year using them and I wish I would of bought them a long time ago. After the snow melts off the vehicle, I’ll back the car out and pull the mat out a few feet, squeegee most of it off then roll it up to get the residual. I tried a shop vac but it took longer. No more water and salt all over the floor.

I use old carpeting that I get from a local carpet store when they replace carpeting.
They cut it out in 4 foot strips
They would just dumpster it otherwise.

I do the same, but use it first

I've got a Waterhog for the Dingo, to catch the melting snow after plowing. Got one in the front entry, too.

I have two no name brand containment mats that look like the ones in the picture in the first post. As others have said, they are not perfect but are pretty effective. I use a foam squeegee to move water off and out the door.

The real answer is a floor drain............but............it requires prior planning and design, some areas don’t allow them.

Also requires competent concrete finishers who want to do a good job, which can be the hardest part to find. When the floor pitches away from the drain, it doesn’t do much for you.
