My pump and small radiator had 3/8 barbs so I went with that for the supply. Then it drops down to 1/4" to the torch and back out.

Thax for the reply, no was asking the rubber hose material that is used for the return / supply hose... is it just some regular rubber hose or some special high heat thing ?

All I have are the air cooled stuff, never handled a water cooled torch , so I don't know much, saw a DIY tig cooler, and had a extra tig power cable (the one for gas and current) figure I get a torch head and build a cooler for the heck of it.

looking at the tig torch head something like this.... gearing up for some aluminum stuff.

Watercooled torches typically have the power as one of the water lines, usually red for hot back to cooler, then a separate line for gas an another one for cold water supply to the torch. They are not compatible with air cooled torch cables.

Most of them I've used are either vinyl tube or cloth jacketed rubber. They are pretty cheap to just buy the cables with the correct ends already attached.

I wrote this b4 doc so I'm not going to alter it. LOL

PVC or rubber, you can buy just the return line on fleebay. Asian fitting sizes are different then American. I use a coolmate3 and I believe the fittings are 5/8 or 11/16. Asian ones are smaller and metric.

I use the same torch that you referred to. The power cable is the water supply line(nut), separate lines for water return and gas (barb fittings), 3 hoses altogether.

I think you got the wrong hose if it's for gas and power. The cable will not last with water running though it. I suggest you buy new hoses and torch it isn't that much and you know what you got. Just make sure your ground cable matches it your torch or buy 20ft and be done.

On the water cooler thing, look for a used, maybe even a broken one to repair. Everyone that I see built that is worth a dam got a couple hundred bucks into them.

Just like O/A the commercial ones are built to be mostly idiot proof. 5/8-18 reverse thread is one common standard on one of the lines. As for actual tubing mat'l, I don't know, sorry

Its a piece of heater hose for the most part. I had trouble with a gas hose on air cooled, the guy at the lws never heard of such a thing.

hmmm I try to use filtered search, couldn't find anything regarding the post.... mind posting that link?

When I started the post doc didn't comment yet, then when I finished and tried to post I got timed out. So I log back in to see doc's post, made that note and posted. Hope that clears it up.;)
