Are you guys in an earthquake zone?

Technically. I am in Salt Lake City, UT. There's always some small seismic activity in the region but the state is making everyone prepare for the big earthquake that is supposed to kill everyone in the valley in one form or another.

Definitely a good price on the install and looks pretty good too. Only thing I would do/have to do if inspected is support the expansion tank. When the bladder goes it will weigh between 30-50 lbs with the extra water in it.

That's a good idea. Also, as far as "needing" it, we'll need to sell the house in the next 5 years as the family grows. It's an extra $150 now that will keep a future buyer from trying to come up with an excuse to drop the list price due to BS.

How did the gas line turn out ?? Does it have proper drip leg ?? Pic's ??

No drip leg that I can see.

Regarding bracing the expansion tank, this tank is very small - 1-2 gallons. I doubt it'll weigh very much even if full. The question is, does it need to be tied to the ceiling which is covered in asbestos or could I prop it to the heater tank? I'm assuming it is usually empty other than when needed, am I wrong?

Gas line is fine for the HWH as it appears that flow comes from bottom and goes upwards which I assume eventually ends up at NG dryer ??

No need for any NG piping changes for heater from what I see, but you could take another PIC of how the pipe stops at the NG dryer. I'm betting you have drip leg there.

For holding up that tank, just build a brace out of wood (ie 2x4 with 1x2 piece nailed on each end) and slide under the edge of tank. Add thickness as needed so it fits snug.

P.S. Does that dryer hose have to stay like that in front of HWH ?? I'd re-route that behind and also make sure all joints are taped up as you don't want lint right there in front of HWH where the burner is located.

There's no drip leg anywhere on that floor. The CNG pipe comes from the crawl space so I think that may be why there's no drip leg. I will check for it next time I have to switch air filters for the furnace.

The dryer hose used to be behind the heater, there's no room for it though. That's a tight space there. I agree that it'd be better if it was not next to the heating element but right now I am not sure there's an alternate route.

For holding up the tank, I pictured a 2x4 much like what you described. I doubt that tank will ever be that heavy given how small it is.
