Water heater TPR angling allowed?

I need to route the discharge piping for the TPR on a water heater and angling the valve itself would save me some hassle. Is there angling allowed by rotating the valve or must all angling happen after the valve?

IME, TPs can go flat, like horizontal, but never up, or be trapped. You never want standing water in the line. They want minimum bends, no threaded bottom end, terminating a couple fingers off the floor.

As far as I can see as long as it gravity drains it's OK

I think the valve can point anyway but flat or up. It has to drain.

Also, anyone ever mess w/these setups? They're polypropylene but I find no way to elbow them so I'll probably just go w/pex or iron instead:

What are you trying to do? IIRC you have to have the tpr discharge open to atmosphere with X inches of the valve.

Temperature and Pressure relief valve should not be restricted, as short as practical, and have very few bends. This is coming from an Electrician, a Plumber can be more specific.

Trying to pipe it to discharge w/an airgap into a wye shared by the washing machine drain.

T&P valves need to drain to a location so it is visible that they are leaking. not sure an air gap is sufficient "visible location"

In my shop the water heater is on an elevated platform with the furnace and both drain to an elevated trap with an air gap. The inspector for the plumbing was specific about several details of the installation but had no issue with the T&P drain so that's fine here. Might vary in other locations. I put a 2 x 3 PVC coupler on the 2" trap to catch more of the spray from the pipe if it ever vents.
