Banjo poly parts are good. Kind of expensive but buy once, cry once.

The Banjo quick disconnects are the best that I have found.

They are little bulky, however they are immensely strong. The cam lock design is used in many agricultural and industrial settings. They offer the same coupler in NPT, and other threads as well. You can replace the seals if need be. The levers let you get leverage to seal it tight which is nice when there is some ice build up.

One of the neat things is that Banjo offers the female end with a male or female thread and the male end with a male or female thread. This lets you set it up how you want. I set mine up with the hydrant getting the male end because it is easier to knock ice off of.

The Banjo units are all poly and stainless so you will have no corrosion issues.

I live in Southern California and our water is quite hard down here. I've tried the generic brass ones from Lowes & Home Depot and they last 6 months before they gunk up with hard water deposits and stop working. I even sprayed them with wd-40 and tried silicon but neither helped. I haven't tried the Eley ones yet, those might work. So for now I buy these from Amazon which I love having a 1/4" shutoff at the end of the hose! They last about a year before the main part starts to leak a little so I just replace these every year and for the price you can't beat it.
