Water intrusion, door frame

Good morning,

So I spent the last three days repairing my two side doors on my house. One allows entry to the garage and the other a spare bathroom.

Anyway, I am here in South Florida and when it rains the water enters both doors about 24" up from the bottom of the door frame. This is because of the direction the rain is usually coming from. I was thinking about using a door sweep along the sides of the door to keep the rain out. I just don't think I am going to like the aesthetics.

Any suggestions on what I should use.

Thanks in advance.

Drew

Are these not exterior rated doors? Think I’d pull them and put fiberglass ones or something. Also use waterproof products like pvc trim

Thank you,

Yes they are hurricane rated aluminum doors. I just replaced them two years ago. In hindsight, next time for sure I will use fiberglass. But it's really the door frame that's the issue.

Good call on the PVC trim, thank you!

I used Fasco 110 to seal my repairs and try and weatherproof the repair.

Photo of one repair is here I can't seem to get it to post: https://photos.app.goo.gl/56yCsrytX2ZQSM6q6

Guessing not much overhang is contributing to this. Stay on top of painting and it will last awhile. Definitely the wood jam is the weak point. Repair looks good. Use a high end paint perhaps a boat paint

Is the concrete right outside the door sloped? It needs to be so water will drain away.
