Water leaking from around condensate trap.

When I installed my furnace horizontally from the ceiling I was given a horizontal installation kit to reposition the condensate trap. This basically takes the trap and rotates it 90 degrees so the condensate will now drain out from what is now the bottom of the furnace. I have done this and since then I have water on the floor constantly. I thought it was just my temporary drain line running into a bucket that was splashing out.

I took a look at it last night and noticed that where the trap was originally positioned there is the (original drain tube, I'm guessing) that is now open and water is coming from this and leaking out between the trap and the gasket that was installed in the casing of the furnace. I am looking at the instruction sheet supplied and there is no mention of what to do with this. Should this be plugged with something to stop this from leaking? The kit did not come with anything that would fit into and plug this leak. Any ideas?

What make and model of unit? Did you have to remove a plug for the new location of the trap for the horizontal install?

It's a Keep Rite model N9MSB.

No I didn't remove anything other than the smaller hoses just to rotate it and reinstalled those. The one that now leaks water would have been the original drain into the trap but is now totally open and not covered. In its original position the trap covered this drain and the spot where it drains from now. Now that it has been rotated, it has left this one open. Make sense?

Do you have the unit mounted in the left or right position? According to the install manual, there are quite a few changes that need to be made to allow the condensate to drain properly. Both directions require removal, and reinstallation of plugs. Also the afore mentioned condensate trap rotation.

Most coils have extra holes for condensate drain locations,Put a 3/4" plastic pipe plug in the hole with a little rector seal on the threads.;)

Not talking AC here bud. Heating from High efficiency furnaces produced condensate.

That is an ICP product. If you don't have the I/O manual, go to any dealer sight. That furnace can wear many different name tags, Heil, Comfortmaker come to mind.

Got it figured out. It made no mention of the plug in the relocation kit but I found it in the manual last night. Seems to be fine now.
