Considering the distance that you are going from the house, I would use a 2" line to the garage. The larger diameter will act as a storage tank and help to keep the water pressure equal to what it is at the house. Don't skimp on the size, because once it is in, you can't change it easily. Larger is always better. I speak from experience.
Throw a 4" flexible drain sleve under the floor where you make the crossing. It gives you a path for any future ideas, and makes the water line easily replacable.
The distance from the meter to the garage mandates either a large diameter line, or connecting the garage line ahead of the pressure reducer for the house.
