Water logged rusty paint sprayer cleaning?

I have a Magnum X5 sprayer I had in a box outside that got completely full of water over the winter, Doh!

Well today I was able to take it apart and clean most of the rust and get it to run but it still has a orange rust film on most of the metal parts.

Contact cleaner only does so much but was wondering what's the best solution to clean it; WD-40, brake cleaner, etc?

It's the metal parts, wiring and such.

I just used wd40 and will hope for the best.

They are probably fairly well sealed given they are cleaned with water often. other than cosmetically it probably will work fine for a long time

Orange is probably rust stains, vinegar may help. Soak if possible.
