I did a lot of searching but didn't find much. I have a Pole Barn constructed with a PT skirt board. I will be doing radiant heat so it will have foam board insulation on the slab sides and under the slab. The foam board will be exposed below the skirt board so I was trying to come up with ideas to protect it from water and mice from the exterior of the building. Has anyone put aluminum flashing below the metal siding on the skirt board? Any other ideas?

I did,
I bent up some aluminum that ran up under the siding about 6 inches, out from there over the top of the 2 inch insulation, and down about 12 inches to the ground.

Along the ground I just laid some loose dirt against the flashing to hold it in place, on one side I have a sidewalk and I intend to caulk that. Thanks for reminding me that I have to do that prior to snowfall.

Follow up - I went with nailing galvanized steel flashing to the outside of the skirt board that goes down to the ground. I will use some type of landscaping edging to make a 12"- 18" wide strip along the outside of the building that I will fill with pea gravel.

Mice protection is spelled C A T. I have three cats, and there are no mice or chipmonks within three miles of my garage.
